The grumpy swimmer Bookstore

A lovely independent bookstore in Elwood.

Today Daniel and I found a lovely independent bookstore when we were looking for some food for lunch in Elwood -THE GRUMPY SWIMMER.

I was surprised by this one because I haven’t seen many interesting bookstores in Australia yet. Its name is cool as well. When we walked in, the first thing I notice is the beautiful smell from those scented candles. It made me feel relaxing and it seemed like I just went into a different space from the street. Topanga is my favorite flavor. I left my phone at home so I was not able to take a picture of the bookstores. So I drew it by the impression from the whole afternoon experience in Elwood in my head.

The green dinosaur was a mistake because I was planning to draw the alligator toy in that store But whatever ha. The cool sunglasses on the dinosaur is an idea from a coffee shop staff. And the lady who wears a horizontal strip sweater is one of the staff in GRUMPY SWIMMER. She’s kind and willing to help us. In this picture, I made her wear socks because those socks in that store are cute.

Bookstores for me are not just a place to find a book that I need, but also a place like a jungle full of inspiration. I can dive into it and have an adventure there. Discover new books, and cool design products, and admire some cool ideas to decorate a place.
Today I have so much fun and I would like to go there again.
